Zoe

Zoe is a recurring character on the Starz original crime drama BMF. She is portrayed by Stormy Merriwether.

Zoe is Monique's daughter.

Biography[]

Lamar's return[]

Zoe is surprised when Lamar shows up at her school unexpectedly, claiming that he's come to see her after getting better in the "hospital." He gifts her a stuffed teddy bear and offers to take her anywhere she'd like, but Zoe is cautious of him and walks away. He attempts to follow her, but a school administrator interferes and instructs Lamar to leave before he calls the police. The following night, before going to sleep, Zoe prays at her bedside. Monique tells her to make sure she prays for her father as well.^[1]

Zoe and Lamar play a game of Monopoly, during which he takes away much of her property, explaining that she has the best corners. Her mother then instructs her to go do her homework, but not before giving Lamar a hug, who she refers to as "dad."^[2]

Lamar reads Zoe a bedtime story, "Three Little Pigs" to be exact, but with a twist that ends with the wolf eating the pigs. After Zoe falls asleep, Lamar heads out into the living room, where he gifts Monique a diamond necklace.^[3]

Zoe wakes her mother and "father" up and asks if Lamar can pick her up from school later that evening, though he isn't exactly punctual, but Lamar insists he will be moving forward and promises to pick Zoe up on time. However, that day, when Zoe exits the school, she finds Meech waiting. They eat fries in the parking lot near Coney's, as he explains that he'll be looking after Zoe for the afternoon. When she starts to become anxious, Meech tells her that he's going to introduce her to a friend of his and that they'll even go for ice cream afterwards. That friend being Kato, who Zoe stays with for a few hours until Meech returns. Unbeknownst to Zoe, she has been kidnapped by Meech and used as a pawn in his and Lamar's war. However, after learning the location of his stolen dope, Meech releases Zoe to Slick, who takes Zoe to Lamar, who then takes Zoe home.^[4]

Zoe watches from the window as Lamar arrives at the house and attempts to force his way inside after her mother locks the door in his face, leading him to frantically bang on the cage and door.^[5]

Zoe returns home with her mother after getting into a fight with one of her friends. As Zoe puts away the groceries, Monique heads towards the back, where she finds Lamar in the bathroom. He covers her mouth and tells her that all he needs is a day to patch himself up. When Monique threatens to call the police and hits his wounded arm, Lamar begins beating Monique until Zoe intervenes, forcing Lamar to flee.^[6]
